I love being able to use these winter days to go back and re-celebrate last year’s weddings. The excitement. The nerves. The romance. The fun.
By the time the wedding day comes around, I feel like I know the couple so well. So I get completely swept up in the emotion of the day. I can’t wipe the smile off my face while the guests greet each other before the ceremony – the reunions between friends and relatives who don’t get to meet so often, and the new acquaintances meeting for the first time. The polite and friendly handshake at the start of the day, that turns into raucous laughter and hugs by the end of the celebrations. I listen to the speeches and wipe tears from my eyes as I hear the stories about the couple and their lives so far and the exciting future ahead of them. I see the affection on the faces of their guests that are all there for the same reason – because they love them and want to help them to celebrate their day. I stand there with my camera and feel it all.
This wedding was an absolute joy. Such a sweet, genuine couple that feel so right together. After the ceremony at Kungsholms kyrka, we travelled to Hagaparken for a portrait session before taking a boat ride to the reception at Stallmästaregården. Such an amazing day!
